HRIM convened a working session with the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) on January 17, 2024, at the Hennessy Park Hotel in Ebene in order to address concerns regarding the implementation of the E-Invoicing Project in the hospitality sector. Over 60 AHRIM members and a dedicated MRA team attended, including Mr. D Ramdin, Director of Medium and Small Taxpayer, and Mr. S Moti, Section Head of the MRA IT Team. The project aims to modernise invoicing practices nationally, requiring sellers to fiscalise their invoices or receipts in real time with the MRA before issuing them to their customers. Discussions focused on integrating the system into hotel operations, regulatory compliance, and addressing challenges. Key outcomes included constructive dialogue on implementation challenges, clarification of regulatory requirements, technical support, and a commitment to collaboration. The MRA and AHRIM also discussed the possibility of elaborating FAQs specific to the hospitality sector.
